Finding the Courage to Change
“Each small action we take with courage lights a path that we didn’t know was waiting, a path back home to ourselves.

There’s a quiet moment, often barely noticed, when life shifts, nudging us toward something different, something new. The thought of change, however slight or monumental, can cause us to freeze in fear, or forage forward with faith. In that moment we have a choice; to turn back, holding on to what’s known and familiar, or to reach forward into the unexplored, seeking the life that might await us.
But to change is to let go, and letting go asks for courage. It requires us to dismantle the walls we’ve built around ourselves. To be willing to say goodbye to the version of us that we have been, so that we may embrace the one we are to become. It requires us to trust that what lies ahead, although unknown and unfamiliar, holds more promise than staying in the safety of what we know too well; the comfort of a life not meant for us.
Courage begins as a whisper, often too quiet to recognize. It might be the soft voice that calls us to finally leave a place that no longer feels like home, or it’s the spark of a new idea, small but persistent, that keeps showing up in quiet moments. Perhaps it’s the urge to forgive, even when forgiveness feels like a risk, or the whisper to start over, even when starting over seems impossible.
The act of change asks us to look deeper, to free our minds of the beliefs that have kept us stuck for too long. To step beyond the comfort zones that no longer align with who we are becoming. To become someone we’ve never met. But please remember this; we don’t change to abandon ourselves, we change to return home to our truest selves. We change to find our way back to who we were always meant to be.
As children we embraced the very essence of who we were. Never trying to be someone we were not. We allowed ourselves to follow our hearts, to chase the dreams that felt all but impossible. With age and obligation, we began to silence those dreams. To quiet the callings deep within for what we deemed to be the right choices. We followed the paths cleared for us by our parents, society, and expectation. All of it creating a change within us to become someone we are not.
It is time to reawaken your authentic self. To find your voice. To remember your truth. Change doesn’t demand perfection. It doesn’t require us to be fearless. It only asks for one step—any step—taken with intention. Each small action we take with courage lights a path that we didn’t know was waiting, a path back home to ourselves.
Finding the courage to change is not about leaving everything behind; it’s about reaching for what feels true and alive. It’s about listening to the quiet voice that tells us where our heart really belongs and daring to follow it, even if we can’t see where it leads. It’s letting go and trusting that what is waiting for us on the other side, is worth everything we have to give. It’s knowing that you are made for more, and not being willing to settle for less.
So please, step into the unknown. Trust your heart more than your head. Know that what lies in front you, no matter how difficult it may seem, is worth the risk if it means finding your true self and the life you were meant for.
